On the basis of TPO, RT-MO introduces a methyl group on each of the two benzene rings, greatly reducing the biological toxicity of TPO. After experiments, it was found that the initiation efficiency of RT-MO was even slightly better than that of TPO, while not yellowing and with lower migration. RT-MO has also obtained the REACH registration certificate from the European Union and can be sold to European regions with extremely strict chemical control.

DESCRIPTION 

RT-MO is a light yellow crystal photoinitiator used to initiate UV polymerization reactions in unsaturated prepolymer systems. It is a substitute for traditional photoinitiators TPO, 819, and TPO-L. Conventional deep curing photoinitiators such as TPO, 819, and TPO-L all contain phenyl phosphorus chemical bonds, which affect reproductive health and are the main reasons for the EU's ban. However, photoinitiators RT-MO, which have methyl groups in the benzene ring and are easily excreted by the human body in the form of benzoic acid, have no problem of toxic residues. They are safe and environmentally friendly excellent photoinitiators.

The photoinitiator RT-MO has been tested and can be used as a printing ink and adhesive on the surfaces of wood, metal, plastic, paper, and optical fibers. It exhibits good solubility in some common UV formulations such as acrylic ester and unsaturated polyester systems. It can be used alone or in combination with other photoinitiators.

Recommended dosage of photoinitiator RT-MO: The specific dosage should be determined by experiments. Usually, 3% -5% can be added to the system.
